We have some very unfortunate news to share: the Greensboro shop for Scent Workshop is closing. The Friendly Center (run by a company called CBL) recently gave us notice that they are re-leasing our space to a larger company. We have until August 5 to vacate our shop—the space that we renovated and have been serving you from for the past 2.5 years. To say that we are disappointed in this news is an understatement. What’s even more frustrating is that CBL has done this to several other local businesses in the past few months, and even more local shops are closing in the next year to make way for national brands.
We do hope to find a new location for our shop, but for now, we are selling all inventory at the Greensboro shop for a large discount.
Workshops are scheduled through July 30.
Meanwhile, the online and Galena, IL shops will remain open. And we look forward to serving you through those options for years to come.
On a personal note, I am heartbroken about this situation. It’s tough to learn that a dream I worked really hard to make true is being taken away by just an Executive Decision.
And I wish I could personally thank you for the support you have given me over the past 5 years. Many of you have attended workshops since I offered them at the studio at Revolution Mill. You have offered words of encouragement, shared this business with your friends and families, and many of you have become my friends. I aimed to make our business more of an experience than a store, and you made that possible through a lovely sense of community that I treasured. I always say that we seem to have the best customers a shop could have, and I’m forever grateful for your kindness.
